Building the Civic 'Net: One Year Later

The Building the Civic 'Net philanthropic initiative recently hosted an event at Mitchell's Fish Market in the Village of Rochester Hills to introduce the initiative's most recent grantee, the Rochester Oral History Archive (ROHA). ROHA has so far recorded 25 interviews with local residents; during which area citizens discuss their memories of various people and places around the community. You can peruse the stories collected so far at ROHA's digital archive.

Also during the evening, Mayor Bryan Barnett of Rochester Hills gave us an update on the City of Rochester Hills' social media efforts; and Oakland University Professor Marshall Kitchens offered an update on a past grantee, the Youth Writing Camps, produced by the Meadow Brook Writing Project.
